Bill had the day off and took me to the zoo! We had such a good time. The animals were (for the most part) up and active! I had so much fun taking pictures of the animals!

The thinker...

This guy was pretending- he kept peeking through his fingers at us! Super cute!

We took the boat ride :-)

I thought this was so cute- he was out!

I love manatees!

These goats were sleeping on the walls really high up!

new friends

RAWR!

We got to see the baby elephant! It's so cute! It was also a miracle he didn't get stepped on- he stayed right under his mom's feet and was trying to nurse while she was trying to walk...

"Mom! Wait up! Momma! Mommy! Mom!"

This rhino was getting his teeth brushed. He seemed pretty happy to be getting it done!

Clean teeth!

There was a cage with a family of monkies- the mom, dad, 3 year old son, and new baby. They were so active, swinging and chasing eachother around and the baby was adorable!

So much fun!

So I sent Bill out to theh car to get some groceries and a few minutes later, find him FROZEN on the walkway. I ask him what's wrong and he can't even talk. It was a garden snake. Now, I do have to admit that when the snake started thrashing around, it was a bit alarming, but I suppose it's supposed to be.

This is the snake chasing Bill around the corner.

My garden- I planted tomatoes, tomatillos, peppers (bananna and green), eggplant, basil, mint, lettuce, snow peas, corn, zuccini... I think that's it. I planted one that was labeled a zuccini, but my grandpa and mom say it looks like a cucumber (which I hate). I really need to weed, but will get to that this coming week(now that science camp is over). I found 2 little tomatoes today!!!

Bill and I went to the Memorial Golf Tournament. It was a beautiful (hot)day and we had a lot of fun watching all the golfers!

Our new favorite thing!

So we've been grilling out just about every night and I got on allrecipes.com and got the idea to grill pizza. As you can see, I'm not real careful about the shape of the dough :-) but it's so super delicious. I put fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil (from my garden :-) on this one and had olive oil dipping sauce for it. Bill's pizza had the tomato sauce, cheese and turkey pepperoni. It's sooooooo delicious!

We went to a Clipper's game! It was really fun, but got rained out at the end.

Rescue Run!
There were tons of dogs and runners there. It was such a fun day and Linds and I did pretty well running! I was practically dragging Palmer by the end and we ended up walking the last half mile or so, but it was a good start!

Baby bunnies in the front yard!

Brand new babies in the hanging basket!

momma bird

Saturday, May 09, 2009

More babies! This is the third bird's nest I've seen in our yard that has eggs or babies in it! I think there are 3 babies in the nest, but I can't really tell. This one is in our back yard and the dogs look up and tilt their heads when the babies are squawking- I'm just waiting for one of them to get attacked by an angry momma bird.

I have decided that I desperately need to start running again, so Linds and I signed up for a 5k on May 23rd (www.rescuerun.com). My goal is to run it in under 30 minutes, but so far, I've been running a 12 minute mile (I've always been a slow runner, but the extra pounds certainly don't help!). It's 2 weeks from tomorrow, so we'll see!!! Wish me luck and ask me about it if I don't post anything (keep me honest :-)
