My ultra short spring break was this past Thursday and Friday. However, I signed up for a Title 1 conference on Thursday. It was a great conference, but dang, on Spring break??? Anyway, on Friday, I dropped Bill off at work and kept on going down to my sister, Sharon's house. We went to lunch, did some light shopping, watched a movie, ate ice cream... super fun day. After dinner, we went outside.

I'm calling the above picture "I'm telling"
The dogs all had a great time too!

We walked back to see the horses...

Lexie Lou Who
Okay, her name's actually Lexie Viola. This is my niece. I made her a tutu so we had to have a photo shoot. She's such a sweet and happy girl!
Look at those big brown eyes!!!
and those chubby legs!
Diana put the tutu on Lexie's older brother, Zander. He was just as pleased as he looks about it.

Firestone Park

While I was home, we went to Firestone park to feed the birds. Usually when we go, we only get chickadees to land on our hands. This time, we got nut hatches and tit mice (yep, it's a kind of bird). It was super freezing cold, but so much fun!

Lexie's baptism was a couple weeks ago. It was so nice seeing everyone and of course, Lexie was adorable. She's so smiley and sweet.
Lexie and Boo (great grandpa)
Lexie and Papaw- She already has the guys wrapped around her little finger!
Look at this sweet face!

We all walked in the Making Strides 5k for Cheryl (my MIL). She was diagnosed with bone cancer that spread from her breast. She's staying strong! Prayers would be appreciated.

This was at the Jack Rabbit Run-more pictures to come!

My nephew, Zander and Brin Brin (or NuNu as he calls her) are best friends.

I kind of like him too :-)

We went to a miniature horse farm close to where I live- they were soooo cute!
This little guy was my favorite! He's so adorable!!!
Annika was very brave! Charlie kept asking when we were going to leave...
Is this the funniest picture ever, or what???

Sharon and the kids came to visit- unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate for the first day. It was rainy and slightly chilly, but we decided to take a rain walk on the beach. We all had our rain coats, umbrellas and warm clothes on. Annika walked right into the water and splashed down onto her belly...
It was waaaaaay colder than it looks...
... and yes, she decided to strip down on her own.

We had my side of the fam over for a picnic on Memorial day- it ended up being mom, dad, Diana, Zander, Grandma, Grandpa and Sarah. It was so fun! We just grilled out, so it was super easy too! I didn't take any pictures during the picnic, but I did take one before- I tried a new recipe for a yummy slushy drink...

It's called Cranberry Slush... Here's the recipe...

Ingredients:
4 cups cranberry juice
2 cups fresh squeezed orange juice, strained
1 1/4 cups vodka
1/4 cup fresh squeezed lime juice, strained
1/4 cup orange-flavored liqueur (recommended: Grand Marnier)
Directions:
In a clean 1/2-gallon cardboard milk container with a resealable pour spout (I just used a pitcher with a lid), combine all ingredients. Seal carton and place in the freezer until frozen solid. If desired, pack into a cooler to keep your picnic food cold and let thaw while enjoying the picnic. Drink when it has thawed and is slushy.

And, of course, I can't just follow a recipe- I used Bicardi O instead of vodka, just because I like it better- it's super yummy and nice to keep in the freezer for those lovely summer days!

Congrats, Mike and Kristin!

We had a baby shower for my SIL, Kristin today and it was fun (and a lot of great food)! Her nursery is Mickey Mouse themed, so she got lots of Mickey stuff and I made her a diaper cake:

We had fair break on Monday and Tuesday of this week and I've had a wonderful four day weekend! Saturday, I cleaned, unpacked, organized, and baked. Sunday, I spent the whole day with Shan- we shopped and went to a japanese steakhouse for lunch. Monday, Bill and I spent the whole day together- dr's appt, errands, movie (Love Happens- alright movie), and visited with Kristin, Mike, Riley, and "blueberry". Today, I met Sharon, Charlie, and Annika at Polaris. We let the kids play on the playground (and got to catch up), went to a bunch of different stores and the Cheesecake factory for lunch (see the pictures below of C and A enjoying their icecream). It was a wonderful weekend! What do you mean I have to go back to work tomorrow??? :-)

Diana, Ryan, Zander and Moose all came to visit. We had so much fun! Bill and Ryan went golfing while Diana, Zander and I went swimming. Z is soooo brave around dogs that are three times his size and sticks his face right up to the dogs, just hoping to get kisses. We all agreed that he actually thinks he is a dog.
